The Nadezhdinski Metallurgical Plant management abides by the principles of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company corporate policy and makes consistent efforts to ensure health and safety in all workplaces within our plant.
Nadezhdinski Metallurgical Plant began preparing for certification to verify compliance with the OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System) 18001:2007 requirements in 2007, in accordance with the approved Program of Implementation of Requirements and Preparation for Certification to Verify Compliance with OHSAS 18001:2007, Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System. In 2008, the training was conducted for our top managers, leaders of structural subdivisions and action owners in the occupational health and safety management system.
In March 2016, the company's Chief Executive Officer approved the new revision of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy.
In accordance with the Regulation of the Russian Federation dated June 26, 2013 No.536 "On Approval of Requirements for Documentation Support of the Industrial Safety Management Systems, the Statement on Nadezhdinski Metallurgical Plant's Policy of Industrial Safety of Hazardous Facilities was approved on April 01, 2016.
In order to implement the Occupational Health and Safety Policy, our plant abides by the following principles:
The Occupational Health and Safety Management Guideline and Occupational Health and Safety Management Standards were developed; hazards and risks were identified for all types of activities; all the production staff was trained on the OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements.
The plant made a List of Significant Risks and developed goal achievement programs that include significant risk mitigation activities.
Today, the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in Nadezhdinski Metallurgical Plant is in conformance with the OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements.
The appointed action owner for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System is the chief engineer.
The organization and monitoring of preventive activities for industrial safety and health and control over establishing a healthy and safe work environment rest with the plant's Health & Safety Department.
In May 2008, the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region awarded Nadezhdinski Metallurgical Plant with a Diploma of Honour as the third-best company in the production culture & safety competition among the companies that had been based in the Sverdlovsk Region in 2007.
In April 2009, the plant won “The Best UMMC Subsidiary in the Industrial Health and Safety” competition and was awarded with the diploma for efficient work in industrial health and safety as of the end of 2008. Nadezhdinski Metallurgical Plant successfully passed a certification audit of the occupational health and safety management system for compliance with the OHSAS 18001 standard requirements. Following this audit, the plant received the certificate of conformance.
From February 07 to 12, 2012, auditors from TÜV SÜD Russland conducted a surveillance audit of the occupational health and safety management system to verify compliance with the OHSAS 18001-2007 requirements. The audit confirmed that the validity of our certificate for the management system.
From July 30 to August 02, 2013, auditors from TÜV SÜD RUS (LLC) conducted a combined audit to verify compliance with the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements. The audit confirmed that the validity of our certificate for the management system.
In March 2016, after the plant was renamed, a new certificate of the plant’s OHSAS compliance with the requirements of the OHSAS 18001:2007 international standard was reissued.
