The main employer in the town of Krasnoturyinsk, Sverdlovsk Region, Russia.

For over 50 years we have been mining iron ores using an underground method, dressing and selling iron ore concentrates as well as producing crushed stone from tailings of the Severopeschanskaya Mine.

History

1957 - surveying a magnetic anomaly in the Severopeschansky pit

The Severopeschanskoye magnetite ore deposit was discovered at a depth of 276 meters. Two years later, the Governmental Reserves Committee approved the ore reserves (100 mln. 300 thousand tonnes with an iron mass fraction of 54.57%)

1961 – starting to sink the cage shaft and the skip & cage shaft

The cage shaft serves to hoist workers and materials. The skip & cage shaft serves to deliver the ore material. The first meters of the soil were removed using the excavator, then manually, and then KS-3 loaders were used. To prevent the rock from collapsing, the skip shaft walls were tubed.

1968 - Stage One facilities were placed into operation

The Stage One facilities were designed to produce 500 thousand tonnes of crude ore per year. It included the following facilities: A headgear-equipped cage shaft; the Central and Southern shafts; mine openings for levels of -80 and -160 m; a set of buildings (compressor station, fan house, central substation); an 800-people administrative & amenity complex No.1; water intake at the Kakva river; the first water supply line; sewage treatment facilities.

April 04, 1968: First ore

The first rail car of iron ore was brought to the surface by a shift headed by Ivan Prutyan, a mine foreman, who later, from 1988 to 1996, was the first elected director of Bogoslovskoye Mining Group.

1969 – boiler house No. 1 was constructed

In addition to boiler house No. 1, the first stage of the crushing & dressing factory was constructed. It was a 2.5 MM TPY unit for medium and fine crushing and a dressing unit.

1970 – Yuzhnopeschanskoye deposit

1.5 km to the south of Severopeschanskoye, the Yuzhnopeschanskoye deposit was discovered, which consists of four individual accumulations, with the total iron ore reserves of 36,160 thousand tonnes.

1972

The headgear-equipped skip & cage shaft; underground crushing facility No. 1 at the level of -240 m; the Northern shaft; underground crushing facility No. 2 and mine openings at the level of -240 m; a 1000-people administrative & amenity complex No. 2; the Novopeschanskaya railway station and an electrified 8 km railway were placed into operation.

1973

The mine opening at a level of minus 240 meters to the Novopeschansky area; an explosives warehouse; a mine district substation of the Novopeschansky area; "Uralochka" underground canteen; the second stage of the 2.5 MM TPY crushing & dressing factory at grass.

1974

A new administrative unit, which is a railway shop, was established and started supervising the loading site. The staff included about 200 employees.

1975

The Novopeschansky headgear-equipped shaft with a fan house and a hot air heating station was built. The factory introduces automation; a new electromagnetic separator was installed. The motor road from the mine to Krasnoturyinsk with a bridge over the Turya river; a flyover bridge over the railway to the Vorontsovka railway station; a second water supply line from the Kakva river, and a "Miner" health & recreation resort were built.

1979

Establishing an underground stoping site No. 9. Due to the high-performance equipment, this area produced most of the ore material, up to 1 MM TPY.

1980

Boris Yeltsin paid a special visit to award the Krasnoturyinsk miners with the USSR orders and medals for their highest labour performance indicators, which were record-breaking throughout the Soviet Union.

1983

A figure of 5 MM TPY of crude ore was achieved. The level of -320 meters being developed. To transport the rock in the mine, the PT-4 load-haul-dump machines were introduced and they still remain the major machinery of this type.

1987

The crushing & dressing factory was revamped.

1999

Bogoslovskoye Mining Group is part of the Ural Mining & Metallurgical Company.

renewing operations at the level of minus 400 meters, which were suspended in 2008 because of the economic recession.

Bogoslovskoye Mining Group is an ore mining company which integrates ore mining, processing and sales. For 50 years that the mine has been in operation, 150 mln. tonnes of the run-of-mine were produced; around 500 kilometers of the mine openings sunk; over 10 thousand kilometers of development boreholes drilled; around 90 mln. tonnes of iron ore concentrate produced. Currently, the company is implementing a set of investment projects aimed at maintaining the mine's ore production capacity and im
