Metallurgical plants as part of UMMC-Steel successfully passed certification audits for compliance with IATF 16949 for automotive industry suppliers. Auditors worked at the Elektrostal Tyumen plant in July, and at the Nadezhda metallurgical plant in September. Certificates to enterprises will be issued in the fourth quarter of this year.
“The strengths of your organization are that you continue to invest in environmental measures and plan further investments in the development of production,” said Sergey Lapkin, leading auditor at TÜV SÜD.
Note that this year both UMMC-Steel metallurgical plants for the first time were audited for compliance with the new international standard IATF 16949. It was published in October 2016 and replaced the ISO / TS 16949 technical specification that has been in force since 1999. Today UMMC- Steel supplies products to 15 automotive enterprises, including KAMAZ, AvtoVAZ, UAZ, Ural and others. The presence of this certificate of conformity is one of the mandatory requirements of consumers.
